  • T20 - Thursday Night

  • B Grade – Saturday

  • C Grade – Saturday

  • Sunday Division 1 – Sunday

  • Sunday Division 2 - Sunday

Women's Competition

Women's Competition

Tracy Village Cricket Club has fielded a team in the DDCC Women's completion since 2022.

The women's competition is a mixture of formats including pairs cricket and more traditional cricket with some modified rules. Games are usually played on Friday nights.

TVCC also offer our junior girls opportunities to play in the women's team and train with the team. The juniors and women have built strong relationships over the years and it is great to see our juniors joining the women.

In 2023 our women's team took out the premiership for the very first time for Tracy Village Cricket Club.

Junior Mixed Competition

Junior Mixed Competition

Tracy Village nominates teams for all junior grades organised by the Darwin and Districts Cricket Competition.

We welcome all participants and abilities/skill levels, both male and female. We accept the NT Government Sports Vouchers for fees payment.

The different junior grades available at Tracy Village include:

  • U9s -5 to 8 years old

  • U12s - 9 to 11 years old

  • U13s - 9 to 12 years old

  • U15s - 13 to 14 years old

  • U16s - 13 to 15 years old

  • U18s - 16 to 17 years old

  • U19s - 17 - 19 years old

Please be aware that there are dispensations rules that allow players to remain at a certain level until they are ready to go to the next level. A player who has just taken up cricket in their first year may still qualify to play a lower division while they learn to play the game. This has to be approved by the D&DCC Junior Committee.

The junior grades are coached by suitably qualified persons (volunteers), so that these young players learn the skills of the game and the social aspects of being a member of a sporting team.  All junior players are encouraged to play in the highest grade possible so that they achieve their individual best and continue to develop as a player and as a person.

The major emphasis for coaches in junior grades is for all players to have fun, participate and to develop.  Winning matches is a product of good coaching and is not the primary objective for Tracy Village Cricket Club Junior Coaches. Participation and fun are the primary objectives.

JUNIOR PLAYER POLICY

Introduction

The objective of this policy is to give underage players, parents, coaches and team officials, an insight into how the club wishes to administer junior cricket.

Some very important goals to keep in mind for junior cricket are;

      1.  Have fun

     2.  Learn new skills

     3.  Have fun

     4.  Practice and improve existing skills

     5.  Have fun

     6.  Participate

     7.  Have fun

The club acknowledges that the future of our senior playing strength is in the correct development of the youth playing for the club.  All the time and effort devoted to these players is an investment in their development and our club's future.

It is important that all young players feel that they are a part of this club and are proud to be associated with it.  Being a part of the club extends beyond the training and playing arena and includes our social and other activities.

The building of friendships and working relations is very important to the development of young players.  Equally important is their enjoyment of the game and the company they keep.

Training

The club has an open door policy at training.  Every child is welcome to attend and try out.  There is no cutoff date after which new players are not accepted.

Playing

Whilst playing with the Under 16s and up teams, it is anticipated that each player that would like an opportinuty will be given the opportunity to play senior games.  This is to assist with the player's adjustment to senior cricket.  Young players need to know senior players within the club so that they feel at ease in their company.  The policy of playing players from within one grade up in the next level extends throughout the club.  It is expected that right from the Under 9 team, players will be given the opportunity to play up in the next grade should those opportunities arise.  This is so the player may:

      *  Improve their skills

     *  Become accustomed to the higher standard

     *  Get to know the older players

     *  Begin to associate with being a special part of our club

The club is aware that some young players have exceptional talent and are capable of playing in the seniors well before their age maturity.  To these players, special consideration will be shown with the aim of allowing all players to achieve their highest possible standard.  Parents should discuss the progress of their child with the coach and the Junior Coordinator.
