Are you a cricketing tragic?

Have you always wanted to head to England to play but couldn't afford 6 months off work?

Are you a team player with ambition to succeed?

Well we have the solution for you!!!

Each year Tracy Village Cricket Club goes on the look out for 'import' players, much like how County and Club level cricket handles its seasonal recruits in England.

We are a successful and driven club who are always looking to improve.

We train hard, play hard and most of all have a huge emphasis on the social side of the sport - for guys, girls, and their partners.

We are quite proud of our achievements as a club, be it winning Premierships, being involved in community events or simply being an enjoyable place to be.

Tracy Village is a club where everyone is welcome, from our strong junior cricket program to developing the next generation of top level players.

Test cricketers Richie Robinson and Tim Paine have played for The Village and loved it, as have Big Bash stars Jake Weatherald, Simon Keen and Solomon Mire.

So, what can you do in Darwin?

Well, Darwin is no longer a country town in the middle of no where.  Now days its a thriving city with a growing population and economy.

There are lots of things to keep you occupied with a huge array outdoor activities close by, the Darwin Waterfront Precinct and some of the worlds best natural swimming holes, intriguing historical displays and not to mention the attractions of Kakadu National Park is only down the road.

And that is not to mention all the friendly locals!

What about accommodation?

As a club we can assistant in pointing you in the right direction where to find a safe place to stay.  This may be boarding with fellow club members, or if you prefer finding a separate place.  Darwin is quite expensive place to live, but do not let that deter you.  Typically a suitable rental room will cost between $180 - $220 per week.  Utility charges like power and water would be negotiated between the tenant and their host.  Trust me, you will want to use the Air con at night as most 'southerners' are not used to the humidity that is around at the start of the season.

While we are on the topic of weather, oh wow, you are in for an absolute treat.

The Dry season weather (approximately April - October) is nothing short of perfect. This is the time of year that cricket is played in Darwin.

Typically temps range from about low 20's over night to a max of 30.  At this time of year the humidity is minimal.

There may even be a morning or two that calls for a jumper.

Now, what about money?

Yes, we can assist you here too.  We have a number of contacts that we can assist in you to find a job.  There is lots seasonal work at this time of year.  If you are willing to work hard, get a bit of a sweat going and work up a decent tan then you will be just fine.

Cricket in the Territory sounds mighty attractive, doesn't it?
